State Department Technical Diplomacy Debrief

The Federation of American Scientists would like to offer newly departed staff the chance to talk a bit about your experiences working on technical subjects as they relate to international policy, domestic policy, and the state of the U.S. science and technology (S&T) ecosystem.

Responses may be complied into a public report on S&T policymaking, including which processes work, which ones fail, the reasons why they fail, and areas for improvement. Submissions will be aggregated and anonymized (i.e., nothing specifically identifiable will be shared, without explicit permission given on the next page). We may use your information to contact you regarding this project or for other relevant purposes in the future.

There is no time limit to this survey, provided it is submitted by July 31, 2025. Take as much or as little time to be thoughtful with your answers. You can save progress and return later. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Cole Donovan (cdonovan@fas.org).
